About IIChE ARC

Indian Institute of Chemical Engineers Amaravati Regional Center (IIChE ARC) was established during 2015 to promote Chemical Engineering activities in the region. Among lofty aims of establishing Industry-Professional body relationship and improving competency of budding engineers, IIChE ARC also strives to promote the importance of Chemical Engineering among public. The center was inaugurated by Dr. Kondabolu Basavapunnaiah, the then President, NES & RVR & JC College of Engineering (A) in the presence Sri Rayapati Gopala Krishna, Secretary & Correspondent, RVR & JC College of Engineering (A) , Sri. J. Murali Mohan, Managing Director, Jocil limited and Sri G.V.Sethuraman, the then President of IIChE, Prof. V. V. Basava Rao the then Vice President of IIChE and Sri C.P.Ramulu National Council members of IIChE.

IIChE Amaravati Regional Centre (IIChE ARC) office is located at JKC College (A) Campus, Ring Road, Guntur. The Centre is aiming to play an important role in the growth of Chemical Industry in the region, by creating awareness about the latest technological developments in the field of Chemical Engineering. The Centre organizes seminars/conferences every year regularly on its own and also a few activities in association with student chapters under IIChE ARC. Through such programmes, the Centre is providing a forum for exchange of ideas and transfer of knowledge among students and faculty of Chemical Engineering in various Institutions and Industrial personnel of Chemical and allied process industries across the country. In addition, the centre organizes workshops, refresher courses for Chemical Engineering faculty to improve their professional capabilities, promoting research in Chemical Engineering, counseling & guiding Chemical Engineering students in career planning; initiating other activities which are of social, technical and professional relevance to their members.

The centre also promotes the activities of student chapters of Chemical Engineering and Allied programmes in this region.

With the constant encouragement from the members, during period 2015-22 IIChE Amaravati Regional Center successfully organized the following International/National Seminars in association with all the student chapters under IIChE ARC.

2. Seminar on Chemical Industry-Growth and Sustainability on 23^rd January, 2018 at RVR & JC College of Engineering (A) campus.
3. Seminar on “Chemical Engineering-Journey Ahead” on 24^th February, 2019 at Rajiv Gandhi University of Knowledge Technologies, Nuzvid (RGUKT, Nuzvid) Campus.
4. Seminar on Industrial Hazards and Safety on 30^th May, 2019 at Jocil Limited, Dokiparru, Guntur.
5. Seminar on Industrial Hazards and Safety on 30^th November, 2019 at Saggonda, West Godavari (Dist.).
6. Faculty Development Program (FDP) on “Recent Innovations and Developments in Membrane Technology” during 26^th - 30^th October, 2020 at National Institute of Technology Andhra Pradesh ( NIT AP) Campus, Tadepalligudem, West Godavari (Dist.).

10. Prof. M. Venkateswara Rao Endowment Lecture on Process Systems Engineering and its Applications in Chemical Engineering at RVR & JC College of Engineering (A) Campus on 27^th October, 2022 in hybrid mode.
11. Symposium on Ideation, Innovation, Development, and Technology Transfer of Industrially Scalable Processes at National Institute of Technology Andhra Pradesh (NIT AP) Campus on 27^th January, 2023.
12. Workshop on Aspen Plus and It's Significance in Chemical Engineering at National Institute of Technology Andhra Pradesh (NIT AP) Campus during 14^th & 15^th April, 2023.
13. National Seminar on Hydrogen-Can it be the saviour of the Earth from Global warming? during 28^th & 29^th April, 2023.

In addition to the above, the student Chapters are regularly organizing student activities in association with IIChE ARC.

Endowment Lecture

IIChE ARC has been conducting an annual Endowment Lecture in the name of Dr. M. Venkateswara Rao from the year 2022, instituted by Dr. Rao with the support of ARC members as one of the annual events of IIChE ARC to motivate Chemical & allied Engineering student community especially in Amaravati Regional Centre and expose them to the emerging technological developments and practices of Chemical Engineering and Chemical Industry.

Awards

The centre was bestowed three times with the best regional centre awards in 2017, 2020 & 2022 and three times the second best regional centre awards in 2018, 2021 & 2023 under "B" category centres for its dynamic & proactive activities.
